Frequently Asked Questions
Have questions about functional wellness coaching? You’re not alone. Below are answers to some of the most common questions about working together, what to expect, and how Inner Terrain Wellness approaches whole person health.
General
What is Functional Wellness Coaching?
1
Functional wellness coaching focuses on supporting the body’s foundational systems rather than simply managing symptoms. Together we’ll explore areas such as nutrition, sleep, stress, movement, environment, and lifestyle habits that may be influencing how you feel. The goal is to identify opportunities that support your body’s natural ability to function at its best.
How is this different from conventional healthcare?
2
Conventional healthcare is often designed to diagnose and treat disease, while functional wellness coaching focuses on understanding the everyday factors that influence overall health and well-being.
Rather than replacing medical care, functional coaching complements it by helping you build sustainable habits, understand your body’s signals, and create practical strategies that support long-term wellness.
Do you Diagnose or treat medical conditions.
No.
Inner Terrain Wellness does not diagnose, treat, prescribe, or cure disease. Coaching is educational and lifestyle-focused. All medical concerns should continue to be addressed with your licensed healthcare providers.

Working Together
-
Your first appointment is designed to understand your health story.
We’ll discuss your goals, current concerns, lifestyle, daily habits, stress, sleep, nutrition, and any previous health experiences. From there, you’ll receive practical recommendations and a personalized roadmap that supports your wellness goals.
-
Not necessarily.
Many clients benefit simply from improving foundational lifestyle habits. If advanced testing appears appropriate, we’ll discuss education options that you can explore with your healthcare provider.
-
Every person is different.
Some clients schedule a single clarity session to receive direction, while others choose ongoing coaching for accountability, education, and long-term support.
Your plan is always individualized.
-
Inner Terrain Wellness offers both virtual and in-person appointments when available.
Virtual coaching allows you to receive support from the comfort of your own home while maintaining the same personalized experience.
